4 November 2003, New York - Citigroup Global Transaction Services, a unit of Citigroup (NYSE: C) and a leader in transaction processing announced today that CitiDirect® Online Banking can now proactively deliver critical information on all Citibank accounts globally as soon as it is available via email, fax or any email-enabled handheld device such as a cell phone, pager, BlackBerry® and PDA to corporate clients who require instant notification of specific events.
Building on the efficiency and superiority of CitiDirect Online Banking, the award-winning corporate banking platform, clients can receive instant notifications of specific events such as prior day ledger balances and funds transfer credits and debits, payment details, as well as Automated Report and File Delivery exceptions. Also, clients can customize their notification criteria which allows them to be notified of events that are important to their business instantly.
Event Notification is available on all Citibank accounts globally and is currently live in North America. A European pilot will begin soon and will be rolled out globally in early 2004. “This is a major enhancement to CitiDirect Online Banking’s offering to our clients. Notifications are processed immediately and based on internal analysis, clients can expect receipt within five to eight minutes after a transaction has been posted to Citibank’s backend systems -- and in some cases even faster than that.
