Global Finance Names Citigroup Global Winner and Best Overall Bank for Cash Management
Top Award and Nine Regional Awards in North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia
New York, April 12, 2004 – Citigroup, for the second year in a row, was named the global winner and best overall bank for cash management in the World's Best Treasury and Cash Management Providers Survey by Global Finance. In addition to receiving the top award, Citigroup received nine regional awards in six of the nine survey categories. These honors, which appear in the April 2004 issue, include:
- Best Overall Bank for Cash Management in North America Best
- Bank for Liquidity/Working Capital Management in North America
- Best Bank for Liquidity/Working Capital Management in Latin America
- Best Provider of Money Market Funds in North America
- Best Provider of Money Market Funds in Europe
- Best Bank for Cross-Border Pooling and Netting in Latin America
- Best Bank for Cross-Border Pooling and Netting in Asia Best Bank for Payments and Collections in Latin America
- Best CLS-Linked Bank Offering in North America
Global Finance editors chose the winners based on input from industry analysts, corporate executives and technology experts, considering factors such as market leadership, customer service, competitive pricing and innovative technologies.
In announcing this year's winner, Global Finance reports that "instead of resting on its laurels, Citigroup is constantly seeking new ways to help clients increase their operating efficiencies, manage risks, free up working capital and achieve higher returns on liquid balances." It further notes that Citigroup's "ability to smoothly integrate its global capabilities with its clients' operating environments has enabled it to win a growing share of the cash management business."
