Global Finance Magazine Names Citigroup the World’s Best Global Corporate and Institutional Internet Bank for 2005
Citigroup Also Chosen as Best Global Corporate and Institutional Internet Bank and Wins in Regions, Subcategories and 47 Countries

— Citigroup has been named the “Best Global Internet
Bank, ” and the “Best Corporate and Institutional Internet
Bank” for 2005 by Global Finance. Over 180 banks participated
in the annual Global Finance Awards survey, which was judged by
an independent panel and Global Finance editors.

Citigroup was chosen for its strong strategy for attracting and
servicing online customers, success in getting clients to use Web
offerings, growth of the online customer base, breadth of products
offered, evidence of tangible benefits gained from Internet initiatives,
and website design and functionality.

Regions and Subcategories:
In addition to placing first in the above categories Citigroup/Banamex
was also named the regional winner in Latin America for having the
best Corporate and Institutional Internet Bank. In Europe, Citigroup
was chosen as the best Consumer Internet Bank.
Citigroup also won the global subcategories of Best Consumer Information
Security Initiatives, Best Consumer Private Banking, Best Consumer
Integrated Site (Banamex) and Best Corporate and Institutional Online
Securities Research.

Citigroup won 47 country awards, including Best Consumer Internet
Bank in 17 countries (Bahrain, Belgium, Czech Republic, Egypt, Germany,
Guam, Indonesia, Italy, Malaysia, Mexico/Banamex, Pakistan, Peru,
Philippines, Puerto Rico, Spain, Thailand, the United Kingdom).
Citigroup also won Best Corporate and Institutional Internet Bank
in 30 countries (Cameroon, Chile, China, Czech Republic, Egypt,
