Dealer Relations

At Citi, we’ve raised the bar for dealer relations within the Canadian financial services industry. Aligning our team regionally, we have nurtured long-term relationships that include proactive meetings and ongoing interaction. This ensures that we’re working together to solve problems as they arise. It also means we can use dealers’ valuable feedback to improve the service we provide to you. Our regular interaction with broker/dealers promotes a positive relationship they can leverage to help sell your business.

Through our extensive contacts at distributor head offices, our Dealer Relations team advises dealers and intermediaries about changes to fund family products, services and processes. Industry-standard electronic files are provided for fund prices, account trade activity and history, and fund distribution. Our team acts as a central resource for the dealer community to ensure that they are prepared to transact business with our customers as effectively as possible.

The Dealer Relations team offers the following services:

  • Maintaining an up-to-date database of all dealer/sales representatives
  • Ensuring industry-standard files are accurate and delivered in a timely fashion
  • Working with the dealer and fund company community to ensure MFDA requirements are in place
  • Assisting dealers with technical issues surrounding the electronic processing of their business
  • Ensuring the system is compliant with FundSERV and N$M requirements
  • Reviewing commission and service fee files to ensure they accurately represent payment to dealers
  • Ensuring all dealer bulk settlements are accurate, and that proceeds are forwarded promptly
  • Sitting on several industry committees, including IFIC, CCMA and FundSERV’s ESG, to ensure the needs of our clients are properly addressed
